Meet your BIBO hotshot

BIBO hotshot overview

Some safety stuff

The BIBO hotshot is an electrical appliance for indoor use only. It should be placed upright on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface, out of direct sunlight and away from flammable materials and any heat source. Do not immerse your BIBO hotshot in water.

Your BIBO hotshot uses 230V AC voltage and is fitted with a 3-pin plug. Ensure that the power socket is earthed. To keep your BIBO hotshot safe for use, make sure that the power cord is free from any obstruction. We recommend not sharing a power socket with other electrical appliances. When cleaning your BIBO hotshot, unplug it from the power source.

Your BIBO hotshot can produce high temperature boiling water. Please exercise caution and place out of reach of children. When dispensing water, ensure that the full flow of water is dispensed before removing the cup.

Using your BIBO hotshot

Getting ready for your hot date

Before using the BIBO hotshot for the first time, we recommend removing and then washing out the water tank.

Next fill the tank with fresh cold/room temperature water, refit the tank and plug in the mains power supply.

Now it’s time to dispense all the water in the tank into a cup or bucket. To do this, press down on the magic dial for 2 seconds (this is a child-lock feature, designed for safety). Then press down on the dial once again to get the water to dispense.

Just a heads up, it can take about 8 seconds for your BIBO hotshot to wake up after a power nap and start the pour.

When the flowing stops, press down the dial again until the whopping two litres (the whole tank) empties. Now your BIBO hotshot is clean and ready for action.

If the lights start flashing, or you hear a mysterious sucking sound, that means the tank has emptied. Simply press down on the dial, to stop the suction and get ready for the refill.

Get the drinks rolling

  1. Fill it up
Your BIBO hotshot has a convenient 2 litre water tank for many cups with one fill. Remember to turn off the power supply when filling the tank.

  2. Wake up and smell the coffee
Now it’s time to power up your BIBO hotshot. Plug it into the mains. Listen out for a beep to confirm it is on. Press down on the dial for 2 seconds (child-lock in action) and the lights will come on.

  3. Cups up
Stand your mug or cup on the drip tray under the spout.

  4. Select your temperature
To choose the temperature you’d like for your cup, simply twist the dial clockwise. You will be able to select one of four temperatures; boiling, 85ºC, 45ºC and ambient water.
  1. Short or tall?
Next up, choose your cup size by turning the dial anti-clockwise. You can choose between a short cup on the left of the dial or the tall mug on the right. Once your preferred option is lit up, press down on the dial. Your BIBO hotshot will dispense the cup of your choice once your selection is made and will stop automatically. Remember it may take up to 8 seconds before dispensing. If you’d like to stop the water flow mid-pour, simply press down on the dial, confirmed by 3 beeps and some flashing lights that display for around 20 seconds.

Caution

When the lights on your BIBO hotshot are on, water will dispense with a press on the dial.

Before removing your cup; wait until your BIBO hotshot is completely done dispensing.

Good to know

When the lights start flashing, or a suction is heard, it’s refill time. Unplug the power and refill the tank. Your BIBO hotshot is an energy-saving maestro. Not only does it boil the exact amount of water you need instantly as it’s dispensing, but it also goes into energy-saving mode after 20 seconds of non-use. To get it going again, simply press down on the dial for 2 seconds. Then it’s lights, dials and hydration for you.

Maintaining your BIBO hotshot

Keeping it clean

To clean your BIBO hotshot, remove it from the power supply. Wipe down the surface with a damp cloth. Use only a mild detergent if necessary.

If the water in the tank has been standing for 24 hours, it is recommended to discard and refill with fresh water.

Should any limescale build up, fill the water tank with a solution of 250ml white vinegar and 1 litre of water, or use citric acid descaler (as directed) with 1 litre of water. Select the boiling option and dispense all of the solution. Once complete, disconnect from the power supply and drain any residual water by tilting your machine at 45° over your sink. Refill the water tank with fresh water, select boil, then dispense all the water (do this twice if necessary).

Heading out? If you will be going away or leaving your BIBO hotshot unused for some time, make sure to unplug the power source, remove and empty the water tank and drain any residual water by tilting your machine at 45° over your sink.
